The end of the world as we know it...

I'm in complete shock this morning after reading the nominations for the Academy Awards. Mark Wahlberg, Oscar nominee? Now, I haven't seen the movie, but Marky Mark? Don't get me wrong... I LOVE Mark Wahlberg (maybe more than I should). And yes, he's a decent actor. I enjoy his movies (the ones that I've actually watched... that one on the boat with Clooney made me nauseated- never finished it). But giving an Oscar nomination to someone who use to drop his pants for a living? Oh please, let Djimon Hounsou win it... if only for the possibility that we might remember how to pronounce his name after. I'm just afraid that if Mark Wahlberg wins it's a sure sign of the apocalypse. I mean, this man I use to follow from club to club, stand in line to get his autograph, and hang (stalk) outside his house... how could he win an Oscar? Whatever, to me he will forever be known as the short guy who chews with his mouth open in McDonald's. Honestly, if he was going to win an award it should have been for the song "Make me say Ooh". Now that right there is award winning material. Either way... if he wins or doesn't, it still blows my mind that he was nominated. And if he wins... well, I'll start digging for my fallout shelter and stocking up on canned goods and bottled water.
